About Gnomon

Rishi Murali is a senior at Neuqua Valley with a passion for teaching and leadership. A dedicated chess enthusiast with a USCF rating of 2000, he serves as the captain of his school's chess team, where he inspires and leads his peers. Rishi tutors several students in chess for free and is planning to host his own US Chess Federation tournaments. Beyond chess, he is a key member of the Aerial Robotics Team and the founder of a thriving community server that helps AP Exam students collaborate and study together. Currently, he is working on Organic Colors, an art gallery project celebrating human creativity and challenging the rise of AI-generated art.

I am Gavin Wang, a Class of 2026 student at NVHS. High schools offer countless opportunities, and I want to help future students realize and thrive in them to their fullest potential. Beyond academics, I won first place in Illinois for a national art contest and a gold medal at a national-level TaeKwonDo competition, experiences that deepened my understanding of the qualities needed to excel in any field. I also received the Gold PVSA for instructing and refereeing TaeKwonDo, with over 100 hours of experience teaching students ages 5 to 62, including those with intellectual disabilities. Through these experiences, I learned that everyone is capable of success; sometimes, they just need someone to help them recognize that focus and determination are the true drivers of reaching their goals.

Kundan is a senior at Neuqua Valley. He's a young, ambitious individual who loves to help Rishi succeed in his life goals. In his free time, you may find him solving the Gaussian Integral :O

I'm Sarthak Behari, and I'm a senior at Neuqua Valley. I've been in the choir program for years and I'm pretty passionate about it. In school I'm involved in Wildscats and Math team, along with that I sing outside of school and play the piano and guitar. I'm really interested in PC and keyboard building, and I would say I'm the most focused when I'm working on long projects!

Manhar Murali is a current student at Neuqua who has a strong interest in math and computer science. He knows python to an intermediate extent and Java at a proficient level. Manhar is also on the school's cross country and track & field team and likes extracurriculars.

Robert is a senior at Neuqua Valley High School. He is a member of the school's Aerial Robotics Team and enjoys learning about military history in his free time.

Hi I'm Allison Oh, a senior at Neuqua Valley High School. I'm currently enrolled in DECA and SEAC through the school as well as participating in a different Non-Profit originization called Steam Dream Team! I enjoy playing the guitar as well as studying for school. I also love helping children learn and help them communicate their ideas out into the world. I hope to make an impact on others for the betterness of our world.

Grace Zhang is a senior who is a skilled violinist with a passion for self-studying AP exams and exploring the arts. She is deeply involved in professional robotics, where she not only contributes technically but also manages the social media presence of her robotics team, showcasing her creative and organizational talents.

Aiden Xie is a current senior at Naperville North High School. In his free time he likes to play golf and sleep.

Hi, I'm Prameet Guha. I am a Senior at Neuqua Valley High School. I have a huge passion for astronomy/astrophysics and computer science, and my favorite subjects in school are Math and Physics. I also enjoy playing the drum set, drawing, and listening to (a lot) of music in my free time. For extracurriculars, I am involved in Robotics, Science Olympiad, Math Team, Mu Alpha Theta, NYSO, Toastmasters, and I founded the Astronomy Club at Neuqua.

Idhant is a passionate, driven individual with a keen interest in using his unique skillset to solve the worlds biggest problems. He is a sophomore at Neuqua Valley, and is involved with aerial robotics, SkillsUSA, French & Math Honors society at school. Outside of school, he runs a financial literacy non-profit, is on the student board of Alzheimer's Foundation of America and loves to volunteer teaching underprivileged kids in India.

Ariston Wang is a sophomore at Neuqua Valley with a deep passion for robotics and electrical engineering. As an active member of the school's Aerial Robotics Team, he specializes in circuit design and embedded systems, often staying after school to perfect his PCB layouts. Outside of robotics, Ariston has competed in several USACO contests and enjoys the challenge of algorithmic problem-solving. When he's not immersed in code or circuits, you'll find him building custom mechanical keyboards or experimenting with Arduino projects in his home lab. He dreams of one day working on autonomous systems and IoT devices.

Adwik is a sophomore who loves math competitions and chess. When he's not competing in AMC or MATHCOUNTS, he's probably grinding USACO problems or playing blitz chess online.

Hey, I'm Wanghao Li, a sophomore at Neuqua Valley. I'm really into physics and aerospace engineering—there's something amazing about how the universe works at both the quantum and cosmic scales. I compete in Science Olympiad (Circuit Lab and Scrambler are my events) and spend way too much time building model rockets in my garage. I'm also teaching myself CAD software so I can design better engineering projects. Outside of school stuff, I play badminton and read a lot about astrophysics!

Aditya is a sophomore passionate about chemistry and sustainability. He's won awards in Science Olympiad chemistry events and plays the tabla in his free time.

I'm Advait, a sophomore interested in AI and machine learning. I've been working on some personal projects with neural networks and computer vision—it's fascinating how we can teach computers to 'see' and understand images. I'm proficient in Python and currently learning TensorFlow. When I'm not coding, I play basketball and debate competitively for the school.

Sagar Raut is a sophomore at Neuqua Valley who thrives in competitive academic environments. He participates actively in Math Team and Science Olympiad, where he competes in Codebusters and Astronomy. Beyond competitions, Sagar has a genuine curiosity for theoretical physics, particularly quantum mechanics and relativity. He enjoys tutoring middle school students and plays tennis recreationally.

Christopher Zhang is a junior at Neuqua Valley with a passion for robotics and computer engineering. Since joining the Aerial Robotics Team as a freshman, he has grown into a leadership role, now mentoring younger members in programming, electronics, and system integration. Proficient in Java, Python, and C++, Christopher has developed several automation tools that have significantly improved the team's workflow and efficiency. Beyond his technical pursuits, he is an accomplished violinist in the school orchestra and enjoys building custom PCs, often helping friends optimize their setups for gaming and productivity.

Hi, I'm Suhrit, a sophomore who enjoys debate and web development. I compete in policy debate and build websites with React and Node.js. In my downtime, I'm either playing strategy games or reading sci-fi novels (currently working through the Foundation series!).

Arhaan is a sophomore who codes and makes music. He's learning full-stack development and produces electronic music on FL Studio. Also plays soccer and drinks way too much coffee.

Akhil Matham is a senior at Neuqua Valley on the pre-med track with a passion for biology and healthcare. When he's not studying anatomy or prepping for the MCAT, you can find him volunteering at the local hospital or binge-watching medical dramas (yes, he knows they're not realistic). He's also involved in Science Olympiad, where he competes in Disease Detectives and Anatomy & Physiology. In his rare free time, Akhil plays tennis and enjoys cooking elaborate meals that he claims are 'nutritionally balanced.'
